By attaining the age of 18, an Indian citizen acquire absolute freedom whatsoever including participation in election. As such the freedom to select a partner in life cannot be denied to those in the age of 18. There are no scientific studies of WHO or others showing that the women in age of 18 faces difficulty in their married life.
Therefore, the existing age limit of 18 for a lady to get married shall continue and the proposal to raise the limit to 21 as shown in Bill no. 163/2021 may withdrawn.
